The Wormguy
Jan 09,2009
Well today was pretty nice, temps in the 30s 20 mph winds and mostly sunny. There is enough ice on Great Bay to put my ice shack out. Ill set it out this weekend. The ice is there now all we need is the smelts to be there. My son Mike and i will fish this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed.
Now like I said yesterday more tips on worms. Worms look a little odd and slimy, are the most amazing creatures, when you consider all the things they do for us and the enviroment. They work just as hard as or even harder do on their lands. While we on the farmers are sleeping or on a break or vacation, the worms are still working 24 hours a day. In fact, they are not even eager to see the daylight. They would rather be safely tuck away in there bins or where ever they are than looking at the light.
You may not realize it but worms are an important part of our existence. They clean the soil we grow and produce our food from. Worms are our only natural recycling machine, In the wild they serve as food for other earth creatures as well, like toads, rats, birds , snakes, reptiles and turtles These creatures are not indigenous to one place. They live all over the world in soft moist soil that exists on every corner of the earth. Worms in worm farms are food for the same creatures. plus you have added benifits of the black gold and reducing the land fill, reducing the Methane gas and getting us away from using those nasty, nasty chemical fertilizers.
Enough rambling for today. Does anybody have any questions? Maybe you have something else to add to this blog.
Tomorrow I shall talk about the horrors of the internet. I will tell you about what happened to my just last night.
Question for today. What has no arms, and no legs and it doesnt have eyes to see or ears to hear? Worms naturally.
